Insider Engage: Parametric Insurance, Beyond Supplementing Traditional Cover

Looking back to RIMS 2022 that took place in San Francisco – Daniel Vetter, our Head of North America, had an interview with Meg Green, Managing Editor from Insider Engage, on how parametric insurance can be a solution that can not only supplements but can also replace traditional insurance. 

Highlighting liquidity as one of the unique advantages, Daniel underscored that parametric insurance doesn’t require the same 18+ month settlement process as is the average with traditional covers. “Whereas the traditional property underwriter focuses on the risk characteristics of a location and assets, we incorporate the probability of a climate event happening or not,” he added.
